Pork Producers' $117 Million Price-Fixing Settlement Sets Oct. 29 Claims Deadline
Consumers who bought pork products between June 28, 2014 and June 30, 2018 must file claims by Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, to share in a $117 million class action settlement with major pork processors accused of conspiring to limit supply and inflate prices. The six remaining defendants are Agri Stats, Clemens, Hormel, Seaboard, Triumph and Tyson. The lawsuit alleges the companies stabilized and raised pork prices through the use of Agri Stats data, production restraints and exports. The companies deny wrongdoing, and the court has not ruled on the allegations. Eligible claimants are indirect purchasers of raw bacon or fresh or frozen pork from bellies, loins, shoulders, ribs or pork chops bought at grocery stores in 24 states and the District of Columbia. Individual payouts are undetermined and will depend on the number of valid claims filed. A settlement approval hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11, 2026, and payments will be distributed only if a judge approves the deal and appeals are resolved.
