Developers Ray Washburne and Jack Matthews have acquired the final 10,000-square-foot parcel of the former Greyhound station site in downtown Dallas, giving them full ownership of the 26,000-square-foot property at 205 South Lamar Street, the Dallas Business Journal reported. Washburne bought the station in October 2024 before it closed in 2025 and now controls the entire site, which includes 804 Commerce Street. Specific redevelopment plans for the parcel remain undisclosed. Matthews is leading the $3 billion overhaul of the nearby Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, a project delayed this summer by the FIFA World Cup's use of the venue's International Broadcast Center. City officials have projected the convention center renovation alone will generate $1.6 billion in economic impact. Washburne last year sold a portion of the former Dallas Morning News building at 508 Young Street to the City of Dallas for $52 million and still plans an entertainment district with a 350- to 400-key hotel there.
