Intuit Adds Meta's Muse AI to QuickBooks, Expanding Small Business Banking Push

Intuit has integrated Meta's Muse AI assistant into its QuickBooks connector, the latest move by the small business software provider to expand into banking services, the company told American Banker. QuickBooks customers can use Muse to manage cash flow and payments and to handle payroll, book closing and tax filing. Intuit Chief Technology Officer Alex Balazs said the company's existing tools supply permissioned data and compliance expertise behind the Meta AI experience. Intuit has also partnered with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity. PayPal and Shopify have added Muse support in the past two weeks, joining a broader agentic AI push by payment firms competing with banks. PayPal supports ChatGPT Checkout and OpenAI's Instant Checkout, while Shopify routes merchant product data through Google's Universal Commerce Protocol. Kaiko research analyst Thomas Probst said stablecoins suit machine-to-machine payments, but warned that inaccurate underlying data can spread errors across many decisions with limited human oversight.
