Jazz Pharmaceuticals' Ziihera Combo Cuts Death Risk 24% in Phase 3 Gastric Cancer Trial
Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (JAZZ) said Friday that Ziihera combined with chemotherapy reduced the risk of death by 24% versus trastuzumab plus chemotherapy in the Phase 3 HERIZON-GEA-01 trial, meeting a statistically significant and clinically meaningful overall survival benefit for adults with HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. The trial, run jointly with BeOne Medicines, also showed nearly 40% of patients alive at three years on Ziihera plus tislelizumab and chemotherapy regardless of PD-L1 status, with a median overall survival of 27 months. Chief medical officer Rob Iannone said the results position Ziihera as the new HER2-targeted backbone therapy in first-line HER2+ advanced GEA. JAZZ traded at $212.27, down 1.11% on the Nasdaq.
