JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) reported a third-quarter net loss of $257 million, or $0.68 per share, widening from a loss of $143 million, or $0.39 per share, a year earlier. Excluding special items, the carrier posted an adjusted loss of $226 million, or $0.60 per share. Quarterly revenue rose 21.1% to $2.812 billion from $2.322 billion in the prior-year period. The New York-based airline's results reflect a bottom-line decline despite top-line growth, as expenses outpaced the revenue increase during the quarter.
