Jupiter Neurosciences Doses First Patient in Phase 2a Parkinson's Trial, Engages Adviser to Explore Strategic Options
Jupiter Neurosciences Inc. (JUNS) said the first patient has been dosed in its Phase 2a RESET trial evaluating JOTROL in patients with Parkinson's disease. The multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study will enroll about 30 patients randomized 1:1:1 to two JOTROL dose levels or placebo, with 12 weeks of oral treatment. Primary assessments focus on safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics, including JOTROL exposure in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid. Secondary and exploratory measures include biomarkers tied to energy metabolism, inflammation and Parkinson's disease, plus clinical outcomes. JOTROL is the company's micellar trans-resveratrol formulation; a completed Phase 1 study showed increased systemic resveratrol exposure and measurable cerebrospinal fluid concentrations with no serious adverse events. Jupiter also said it has begun a formal process to explore strategic options, including asset sales or licensing, partnerships or business combinations, with Tungsten Advisors as adviser. JUNS traded at $2.48, down 0.39%.
