Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur Composite Index may add to its winnings on Wednesday after ending a three-day slide in which it fell more than 30 points, or 2 percent. The index now sits just shy of the 1,600-point plateau. The KLCI rose 3.83 points, or 0.24 percent, to finish at 1,599.58 on Tuesday, trading between 1,592.57 and 1,602.83. Gains in plantation and mineral stocks were capped by weakness in technology shares. The Asian markets forecast is flat to slightly higher after a dip in oil prices. On Wall Street, the Dow jumped 529.85 points, or 1.02 percent, to 52,495.88, while the NASDAQ eased 6.07 points, or 0.02 percent, to 26,424.82 and the S&P 500 added 21.84 points, or 0.28 percent, to 7,712.57. The Dow's advance partly reflected a sharp rise in 3M (MMM) shares after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings and raised its full-year profit forecast. West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery fell $1.76, or 1.82 percent, to $101.84 per barrel.
