Lucid Q3 Output Falls 38% as Deliveries Top Production; Stock Down 60% in 2026
Lucid Group (LCID) reported third-quarter 2026 production of 2,954 vehicles and 3,806 deliveries, with the company intentionally throttling output to draw down finished-vehicle inventory. Deliveries exceeded production by 852 units — the first such gap this year. Output fell 38% from 4,774 units in the prior quarter, while deliveries dropped 6.7% from 4,078 a year earlier, according to Electrek and CNBC. The results reflect CEO Silvio Napoli's "operating reset," targeting $1.4 billion in 2026 cash flow improvements: $600 million to $800 million from inventory sell-down, $500 million in reduced capital investment, and about $200 million in operating expense cuts. Q3 was the first full quarter in which Lucid's Arizona plant ran a single shift, after the second shift at AMP-1 in Casa Grande was eliminated in June alongside an 18% U.S. workforce reduction. Lucid has produced 13,228 vehicles and delivered 10,852 through three quarters of 2026. Shares closed up less than 1% at $4.17 on Monday and are down more than 60% this year. Full financial results are due November 9.
