LG Display Q3 Operating Income Falls 42% on Weak Sales, Swings to Net Profit

LG Display Co., Ltd. (LPL, 034220.KS) reported Thursday that third-quarter operating income fell 42% to 250.568 billion Korean won from 431.037 billion won a year earlier, as net sales declined 10% to 6.277 trillion won from 6.957 trillion won. The South Korean electronics company swung to a net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company of 746.747 billion won, compared with a loss of 20.658 billion won a year ago. Shares in South Korea were trading 1.36% lower at 7,250.00 won following the results.
