Lululemon Athletica appointed former chief product officer Tara Poseley to its board on Monday, fulfilling a settlement requirement with founder Chip Wilson to seat a director with apparel product and brand expertise by Oct. 1. Poseley, who served as Lululemon's product chief from 2013 to 2015, joins the board with more than 30 years of industry experience, including prior roles at Kmart and Gap Inc. and most recently as CEO of Paula's Choice Skincare. Her appointment follows the cooperation agreement reached earlier this year after a public dispute over leadership, which allowed Wilson to add two directors — former ESPN CMO Laura Gentile and former On co-CEO Marc Maurer. "Tara brings deep product expertise and understands what makes Lululemon special," Wilson said. CEO Heidi O'Neill said Poseley will strengthen the company's product innovation and brand strategy. O'Neill, who took the role a little over a month ago, recently restructured the C-suite, placing Athleta CEO Maggie Gauger in charge of merchandising, design and product innovation starting Monday.
