Euro Zone Investor Morale Drops to 2.7 in October as Expectations Weaken, Sentix Says
Euro zone investor morale fell to 2.7 points in October from 5.1 in September, missing analyst forecasts of 5.0, according to the Sentix survey released October 5, 2026. The decline marks a reversal from September's four-year high. Sentix attributed the drop to a "noticeable setback" in investor expectations, which plunged 5 points to 8.8. The current conditions subindex held steady at -3.3. The survey polled 1,030 investors, including 218 institutional investors, between October 1 and October 3. Germany's headline index slipped to -3.6 from -2.8, with expectations falling to 8.0 from 12.3. However, Germany's current situation subindex rose for a fourth consecutive month to -14.5, its highest since May 2023.
