McDonald's Debuts Disney Villains Boo Buckets for Halloween, Marking 40th Anniversary

McDonald's launched a limited-time Halloween Boo Bucket collection featuring five Disney villains, available beginning October 20 as part of its Happy Meal lineup. The buckets, inspired by Jafar, Ursula, Scar, Cruella de Vil and Maleficent, include villain-themed stickers and replace the traditional Happy Meal box. Meals offer a hamburger or four- or six-piece Chicken McNuggets with French fries, apple slices and a drink; prices vary by location. The promotion marks the 40th anniversary of Boo Buckets, which debuted nationally in 1986 after a limited test the prior year. Some customers criticized the new designs as lacking a traditional Halloween look and called for the return of the original McPunk'n, McBoo and McGoblin designs with their lids.
