MIRA Pharmaceuticals Reports Positive Preclinical Data for MIRA-55 Pain Drug, Targets Q1 2027 IND Filing
MIRA Pharmaceuticals (MIRA) said a 21-day preclinical study of oral MIRA-55, its investigational candidate for chronic inflammatory pain, showed significant reductions in pain hypersensitivity, with effects comparable to celecoxib at higher doses. The company reported the drug maintained pain-relieving effects throughout the study without observed tolerance and reduced inflammation-associated swelling. MIRA-55 was well tolerated in 72 male and female rats, with no adverse clinical signs or deaths reported, the company said. The findings support continued development toward a planned Investigational New Drug submission in the first quarter of 2027, subject to completion of remaining preclinical and regulatory activities. MIRA-55 remains in preclinical development, and its safety and efficacy in humans have not been established. MIRA shares were trading at $0.66, down 2.21%.
