Microsoft on Wednesday reported Azure revenue of $33.2 billion for the July–September quarter, up 48% from a year earlier, disclosing the cloud unit's dollar figure for the first time. The segment, which lets businesses rent computing power for applications and AI models, is now Microsoft's largest and fastest-growing product line, at roughly 36% of the company's $92.3 billion in quarterly revenue. The figure exceeded the $32.3 billion analysts expected by about $850 million and topped the 44% to 45% growth CFO Amy Hood had forecast in July. Alphabet, which also reported Wednesday, said Google Cloud brought in $30.7 billion in the same quarter, though it grew roughly twice as fast as Azure. Azure sits within Agents and Infra, one of two new segments Microsoft introduced this quarter. That segment, which groups Azure with Microsoft 365's cloud business, posted $76.8 billion in revenue, up 25%. Amazon reports earnings Thursday.
