Strategy Halts Bitcoin Purchases, Spends $205M on STRC Buyback
Strategy did not buy any Bitcoin last week, ending a run of weekly purchases that began in mid-September, and instead spent $204.9 million repurchasing its STRC preferred stock, the company said on Monday. The Bitcoin treasury firm sold no shares through its at-the-market offering between October 19 and 25, according to an SEC filing. It holds 848,517 BTC, acquired for $64.02 billion at an average of $75,446 per coin. The buyback covered 2,068,459 shares and was funded entirely from USD Cash, which fell to $242.4 million from $447.3 million a week earlier. The pause follows smaller purchases: 267 BTC for $22.1 million the prior week, after 250 BTC for $21.5 million. Its USD Reserve, covering preferred dividends and debt interest, held steady at $4.83 billion. After the buyback, $956.8 million remains under the $3 billion preferred repurchase program. Strategy also faces possible removal from MSCI indexes under a rule finalized October 15 targeting non-operating companies, with the affected list due November 11.
