Myriad Genetics' Precise MRD Platform Detects Post-Surgery Recurrence Risk in Colorectal, Pancreatic Cancers
Myriad Genetics (MYGN) reported new data from the ongoing MONSTAR-SCREEN-3 study showing its whole-genome sequencing-based Precise MRD platform detected molecular residual disease and identified recurrence risk in patients with resectable colorectal and pancreatic cancers following surgery. In colorectal cancer patients, circulating tumor DNA detected one month after surgery was strongly associated with disease progression, appearing before clinical recurrence in all observed events with a median lead time of four months. More than half of postoperative ctDNA-positive patients had levels below 100 parts per million, demonstrating ultra-sensitive detection. In pancreatic cancer, personalized testing panels were developed for all evaluable patients, with half achieving the maximum 1,000-variant panel. Patients with MRD detected one month after surgery had significantly worse recurrence-free survival. The company cautioned the results do not establish that MRD-guided management improves clinical outcomes. Data will be presented at the ESMO Congress 2026 on October 25. MYGN traded at $5.68, up 1.98%.
