Japan's Nikkei 225 may resume declines on Thursday after surging 1,272.45 points, or 1.94 percent, to close at 66,753.72 on Wednesday, ending a two-day slide of nearly 900 points. The index traded between 66,014.48 and 66,946.14 during the session, lifted by gains in technology, resource, financial and shipping sectors. Regional sentiment is mixed to lower as rebounding crude oil prices offset an improved interest rate outlook. U.S. consumer prices rose less than expected in August, cutting CME FedWatch odds of a quarter-point Fed rate hike to 34.9 percent from 50.9 percent. The ten-year yield closed at its highest since May 2002. WTI crude for November rose 1.1 percent to $90.40 a barrel. The Bank of Japan releases its quarterly Tankan survey Thursday.
