Mintive Raises $7M Seed Led by Cowboy Ventures for AI Agent Identity Management
Mintive, an early-stage startup providing identity and governance tools for enterprise AI agents, has raised a $7 million seed round led by Cowboy Ventures, bringing its total funding to $11 million. Investors include Coatue, Operator Collective and Hustle Fund, alongside angels such as Okta co-founder Frederic Kerrest, former Google Chief Scientist Jeff Dean and OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy. The company was founded by CEO Jiquan Ngiam, Coursera's first employee and a former Google Brain researcher, and CTO Vijay Vasudevan, a co-creator of TensorFlow. Its platform offers an MCP gateway for authorizing agent access to cloud services, an LLM gateway with cost controls, agent identity and authorization management, and company-wide agent monitoring. Mintive says it has signed more than 50 enterprise customers since launching its product in February, including Ro, Modern Treasury, the University of Michigan, Coursera, Apax and Stability AI. The startup enters a crowded field where Amazon, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic already offer agent management systems, alongside dozens of startups.
