SpaceX to Gift 2 Million Shares to Children via Trump Accounts in December

SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said Friday that more than 2 million company shares will be distributed in December to eligible children through "Trump Accounts," with the initial gift currently being transferred to escrow. The shares will go to children aged 11 to 17 living in ZIP codes with a median family income of $57,000 or less, including areas with too few residents for income data to be reported. Eligible families are to receive notice by Monday, Shotwell said in a post on X. A separate gift is expected in coming weeks for children in military families serving overseas, children in foster care, and children from families earning $90,000 or less in eligible Texas counties. Separately, CEO Elon Musk said earlier this month that SpaceX and Tesla had formed committees to explore a potential merger, though he said no terms have been agreed and a deal might never materialize.
