Australia Post CEO Paul Graham to Retire June 30 Amid $75.5 Million Loss

Australia Post Chief Executive Officer Paul Graham will retire at the end of the financial year on June 30, the state-owned corporation announced Thursday. The board has launched a search for a successor, considering both internal and external candidates. The transition comes as the postal operator reported an adjusted pre-tax loss of US$75.5 million for fiscal year 2026, ended June 30. Revenue rose 4% to $6.9 billion, led by parcel delivery revenue growth of 4.8%, while letter volumes fell 14.7%. The mail service posted a $44.3 million loss. Cost management reforms generated $132 million in year-on-year savings, though operating costs rose 3.9% on wage growth, higher licensee commissions and parcel-related expenses. The company invested $290 million in fleet, technology and network expansion. Chairwoman Siobhan McKenna credited Graham with landmark reforms under the Post26 Strategy and the Post30 modernization plan, saying the strategies set Australia Post on a path to long-term sustainability.
