Anthropic Files for IPO Under Ticker "ANT," Discloses $16.3 Billion Revenue and $80.7 Billion Net Loss

Anthropic, maker of the Claude chatbot, filed go-public documents Monday, moving the AI company closer to a highly anticipated IPO under the ticker symbol "ANT." The filing showed revenue of $16.3 billion for the six months ended June 30, alongside a net loss of $80.7 billion. The listing will test investor appetite for AI stocks amid market volatility; the PHLX Semiconductor Index fell 3% last week while the S&P 500 was flat over the same period. Anthropic follows SpaceX's (SPCX) debut, which raised over $85 billion in June. SpaceX shares ended Friday at $147, roughly 9% above the offering price but about 35% below the intraday high reached shortly after listing. OpenAI has postponed its own plans to next year while raising up to $30 billion at a $1.25 trillion valuation, according to CNBC. Investors seeking pre-IPO exposure can use proxy funds; Nvidia (NVDA), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet (GOOGL) hold stakes in Anthropic.
