Anthropic Launches AI Spending Analytics Tools as Claude Code Enterprise Revenue Surges
Anthropic on Wednesday unveiled a suite of reporting tools giving enterprise customers granular visibility into the cost and output of their AI token spending, as the company moves to demonstrate return on investment for its Claude Code coding tool. The tools draw on internal analytics and employee surveys to show teams' work over a date range, output produced, cost incurred, and where workflows broke down. Anthropic said it will not use the data for model training by default. The company is also introducing pooled group budgets to help teams manage token spending. Anthropic's financials show Claude Code's traction: an operating profit in the second quarter and 900% net revenue retention, with spending from the same customers in the third quarter of 2026 growing ninefold from a year earlier. Research from developer-tools firm Jellyfish found Claude Code and other Anthropic-model tools account for nearly a third of proposed code changes among 276,000 users surveyed, with spending up 10x since the start of the year—now about 2% of total engineering cost.
