Stord Acquires AMS Fulfillment, Adding 1 Million Square Feet to Logistics Network

Fulfillment provider Stord has acquired third-party logistics company AMS Fulfillment, the company announced in an Oct. 21 news release. The deal, Stord's largest to date, adds 1 million square feet across East Coast and West Coast hubs in Southern California, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Purchase price was not disclosed. AMS processes more than 10 million orders annually for beauty, wellness and direct-to-consumer brands. Stord processes over $15 billion in gross merchandise value annually for more than 1,000 brands across locations in Texas, Georgia, Canada and the U.K. The acquisition extends Stord's aggressive buyout strategy, following deals for a former Quiet Logistics fulfillment center in Dallas, Shipwire from Ceva Logistics, UPS subsidiary Ware2Go and a Pitney Bowes facility in Kentucky. The logistics sector has seen broader consolidation, including CMA CGM's $1.4 billion deal for FedEx Supply Chain in July and C.H. Robinson's planned $5.8 billion purchase of RXO.
