Anthropic IPO Filing Reveals $500 Billion Infrastructure Commitments, Revocable Founder Pledge
Anthropic released a preliminary IPO prospectus on Monday disclosing more than $500 billion in committed infrastructure spending, but omitted key pricing and valuation details. The filing also states that founders and executives intend to donate 80% of their personal Anthropic equity, though page 118 clarifies the pledge is voluntary, revocable, and not a legal obligation — a contrast with the charitable commitment emphasized earlier in the document. Over the next seven years, Anthropic has committed at least $114.5 billion to Google (GOOGL), $110 billion to Amazon (AMZN), and $44.9 billion to Microsoft (MSFT) for AI and cloud infrastructure, payable regardless of actual usage. It also owes Broadcom (AVGO) $161.2 billion for data center and equipment leases, plus $44.6 billion to NScale Global and $41.3 billion to Lambda — $516.5 billion in total. Additional outlays include an undetermined amount exceeding $20 billion to AMD and up to $120.5 billion tied to SpaceX. The commitments contrast with $3.9 billion in operating cash flow for the first half of the year. Analysts note the spending is a necessary cost of scaling, but the obligations remain central to assessing cash flow and IPO valuation.
