Scan Global Logistics to Acquire Oregon's OIA Global in Record Deal

Danish freight intermediary Scan Global Logistics has agreed to acquire Portland, Oregon-based logistics provider OIA Global, its largest investment to date, in a deal announced late Wednesday that it said would place it among the world's top 20 freight forwarders. OIA, founded in 1988, employs more than 1,200 people across over 60 offices in more than 30 countries and reported $780 million in revenue last year. Terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027. Scan reported $2.82 billion in revenue last year, with adjusted EBITDA up 12% year over year to $244.2 million, while posting a $101.5 million loss that management attributed to debt refinancing and financing its acquisition of Canada's ITN Logistics Group. Armstrong & Associates ranks Scan as the 19th largest freight forwarder worldwide by gross revenue and ocean/air volume.
