Anthropic Files Publicly for Nasdaq IPO Under Ticker "ANT," Goldman and Morgan Stanley Lead

Anthropic, developer of the Claude AI models, publicly filed for an initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, planning to list on Nasdaq under the ticker "ANT." The company had filed confidentially in June. Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS) are leading the offering. Bloomberg previously reported the company could begin its IPO roadshow as early as the week of November 9, with sources saying proceeds could match or exceed the $85.7 billion record set by SpaceX (SPCX). CEO Dario Amodei co-founded Anthropic in 2021 with a group of researchers who left OpenAI. Claude has gained traction among enterprise customers, with expansion accelerating this year on the back of coding tool Claude Code and models including Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The listing would make Anthropic the first public company centered on developing frontier AI models. The timing carries risk: Wall Street is increasingly questioning whether AI service revenue can support infrastructure costs projected in the trillions, data center credit risk is rising, and AI cloud stocks have sold off recently. A series of incidents involving uncontrolled AI agents has also drawn stricter safety scrutiny to Anthropic and OpenAI.
