Eos SENOLYTIX Reports Preserved Motor Function in Aged Rats With PTC-2105; Pulmatrix Falls 5%
Eos SENOLYTIX announced positive interim results for its investigational geropeptide PTC-2105 in aged rats, showing preserved motor performance and reduced fat mass. Shares of Pulmatrix (PULM), its proposed merger partner, closed Thursday at $1.41, down 5.03%. In the oldest cohort of super-aged male rats, weekly subcutaneous treatment at 0.5 mg/kg maintained Rotarod performance at Week 16, while the vehicle group declined approximately 76% — a statistically significant difference. At Week 8, fat mass fell 14.5% from baseline at 12.5 mg/kg versus 8.2% in the vehicle group. The 32-week study, conducted at Albert Einstein College of Medicine's BIO-VITAL preclinical facility under a fee-for-service agreement, evaluates two once-weekly doses across multiple age cohorts. Eos said the data support IND-enabling development and plans first-in-human studies in 2027, pending IND clearance. The proposed Pulmatrix merger is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the combined company trading on Nasdaq under the proposed ticker MTXL.
