Musk Says Ukraine Violated Starlink Terms by Arming Attack Drones, Says Loophole Closed

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said Sunday that Ukraine's military violated service terms by using the company's Starlink satellite internet service to guide attack drones, and that the loophole has been closed. He said Starlink is a civilian commercial service that should not support offensive operations. Musk, responding on X to a user post stating that Starlink is not a weapons system, distinguished Starlink from Starshield, a separate system controlled by the U.S. government whose use Washington decides. He said Starlink remains critical to Ukraine's defense as the only communications system that cannot be jammed or destroyed. Musk warned that Ukraine's front line would collapse immediately if Starlink service stopped, calling the statement a description of reality rather than a threat. He said SpaceX has contributed more to Ukraine's defense than any other private company. He also criticized those advocating continued war, saying they offer no viable path to resolving the conflict.
