Nvidia (NVDA) stands to benefit long-term after a White House lunch with AI industry leaders ended without restrictions on data center construction or chip supply for AI training, Barron's reported. President Trump said "self-regulation is very important," with CEO Jensen Huang at his side. Attendees signed a statement committing to voluntary AI safety principles, including internal controls, model development oversight and external model review. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei had pushed for stricter regulation; Huang has advocated industry self-governance. Nvidia shares rose 1.5% on Wednesday to close at $230.70. The stock gained about 17% in the third quarter, beating the S&P 500's roughly 2% gain; the index is up 23% year to date. Barron's noted Nvidia's strategy of building an ecosystem of millions of developers using its hardware, strengthened by its acquisition of AI platform Hugging Face. Rational Equity Armor Fund portfolio manager Joe Tigay said Hugging Face gives Nvidia a position in a more fragmented AI world of open models and specialized applications.
