Nvidia (NVDA) will invest $3 billion in Meta Platforms (META) through a stock issuance, the companies said Tuesday, expanding their collaboration on Meta's Muse models and AI agents to boost inference and training performance. Meta plans to broaden deployment of Nvidia infrastructure, including Vera Rubin systems, Vera CPUs, Spectrum-X Ethernet and BlueField-4, aimed at supporting next-generation AI agents and improving performance per watt and network throughput. The two companies said Muse models and agents running on Nvidia infrastructure have posted top-tier benchmark results and rapid consumer download growth since launch. Further collaboration will target workflow optimization to improve performance and total cost of ownership. On agent security, the companies will evaluate deploying agents through Nvidia's OpenShell reference architecture and monitoring agent behavior with NVIDIA Sentry. Additional potential work covers structured, unstructured and graph data processing. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said AI agents represent a new computing model in which software understands user goals, reasons, uses tools and completes work on the user's behalf.
