Novartis's Kisqali Cuts Death Risk 19% in Six-Year Early Breast Cancer Data
Novartis (NVS) said six-year results from the Phase 3 NATALEE trial show Kisqali (ribociclib) plus endocrine therapy reduced the risk of death by approximately 19% versus endocrine therapy alone in patients with hormone receptor positive, HER2-negative early breast cancer at high risk of recurrence. The late-breaking data will be presented at ESMO 2026. Invasive disease-free survival absolute benefit rose from 4.1% at five years to 5.3% at six years. Breast cancer-specific survival data supported the overall survival findings, with the combination cutting the risk of breast cancer-related death by roughly 30%. Patients had been off Kisqali for a median of about three years, and the benefit continued to deepen after treatment completion. No new safety signals were reported. NVS closed Thursday's trading at $156.27, up 1.52%, and was at $155.98 pre-market, down 0.20%. The stock has traded between $121.57 and $170.46 over the past year.
