Narrative

Old Dominion Freight Line was named the top national LTL carrier for quality for a 17th consecutive year and ranked first in 24 of 28 performance attributes in the 2026 Mastio & Company LTL Carrier Customer Value & Loyalty Study, which surveyed more than 1,600 shippers. The study scores carriers across operational performance (on-time pickup and delivery, transit consistency, damage and shortage prevention), service quality, billing mechanics and customer loyalty. Mastio President Kevin Huntsman called the streak "a particularly impressive accomplishment" given shifts in the carrier landscape over nearly two decades. Old Dominion President and CEO Marty Freeman said the shipper-selected award "shapes how we focus our strategy." Mastio's methodology relies on direct interviews with shipping decision-makers rather than carrier-reported scorecards, producing attribute-level data shippers can weigh against their own priorities.
