U.S. stock futures fell Thursday as a jump in crude prices and escalating supply risks, following a drone attack on a Saudi oil field, weighed on investor sentiment. Dow futures were down 308 points, S&P 500 futures lost 77.25 points and Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 482 points as of 8:00 a.m. ET. Brent crude futures jumped 3.3% to $112.43 a barrel, while WTI futures rose 2.6% to $99.69. Saudi Aramco's Shaybah oilfield continued normal operations after the attack. Gold retreated, with spot gold down 1.3% at $4,088.97 an ounce. The declines follow a firm Wednesday close, when the Nasdaq gained 1.1% to 26,702.86, the Dow rose 0.7% to 52,856.09 and the S&P 500 added 0.6% to 7,757.17. Investors await September leading indicators, weekly jobless claims and the Kansas City Fed manufacturing index later Thursday.
