Thai Stocks Poised to Rebound as SET Slips 0.25% Ahead of Central Bank Rate Decision
Thailand's SET index may reverse Tuesday's modest losses, with regional sentiment lifted by easing oil prices and a technology-led rally on Wall Street, as the Bank of Thailand concludes its policy meeting later today. The central bank is expected to hold its benchmark rate at 1.00 percent. The SET fell 4.01 points, or 0.25 percent, to close at 1,575.02, snapping a three-day streak that had added nearly 25 points, or 1.4 percent. Trading ranged between 1,572.19 and 1,586.61 on volume of 11.294 billion shares worth 67.040 billion baht. Consumer and technology losses offset gains in industrial and resource shares. U.S. markets were cautiously optimistic: the NASDAQ jumped 1.18 percent to 26,477.81, the S&P 500 added 0.60 percent to 7,722.60, and the Dow edged up 0.03 percent to 52,377.57. Tech shares recovered on renewed AI optimism after Anthropic filed for an IPO and Nvidia (NVDA) and Meta (META) announced a partnership on the Muse model family. Crude oil slid 1.70 percent to $100.03 a barrel.
