Supermicro (SMCI-US) on Tuesday raised its fiscal 2027 first-quarter revenue guidance to $18.5 billion-$19.5 billion from a prior range of $14.5 billion-$15.5 billion, a roughly 27% increase at the midpoint, citing rising demand for AI platforms. The company also lifted its gross margin forecast for the quarter ended September 30 to 12%-12.5%, up from an earlier 10.4%-10.8%, a 1.65 percentage-point increase at the midpoint, driven by changes in customer and product mix. Sequentially, revenue is projected to rise about 71% from roughly $11.1 billion last quarter, though the margin remains below the prior quarter's 17.5%, indicating that expanded AI server shipments have not yet restored profitability to earlier levels. Supermicro said the figures are preliminary and unaudited. Full results are scheduled for release on November 3, when margin trends, actual earnings and the full-year outlook will be in focus.
