DeFi Development Corp. Adds 26,202 SOL Worth $3M as Treasury Buying Slows
DeFi Development Corp. (Nasdaq: DFDV) acquired 26,202 Solana tokens worth roughly $3 million between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, according to an 8-K filing, bringing its total holdings to 2,564,212 SOL valued at $302 million — a 1% increase from Sept. 25. The purchase marks a deceleration in the company's accumulation pace. DFDV added 101,381 SOL in the week ending Sept. 18 and 47,706 the following week, roughly double the most recent weekly haul. CEO Joseph Onorati said the company has grown its treasury by 11% since Aug. 12, though the latest weekly increase amounted to about half the prior week's pace. The Nasdaq-listed digital asset treasury company, which operates its own Solana validators, funds SOL purchases partly through CHAD preferred stock offering a 13% annual dividend, and a $300 million at-the-market share program. DFDV reported preliminary Q3 estimates showing SOL per share and net asset value per share grew by double digits since Aug. 12.
