Spotify Touts Agent Integration as Q3 Revenue Nears €5 Billion, Users Hit 788 Million

Spotify reported 788 million monthly active users and nearly €5 billion (about $5.6 billion) in revenue for a strong third quarter, with co-CEO Gustav Söderström telling investors the streaming giant is positioned to benefit from the rise of AI agents. Söderström said Spotify aims to be the media service consumers reach through agents such as Meta's Muse, ChatGPT and Claude, rather than only through its own app. Spotify was the first music service to integrate with Meta's Muse, he noted, adding that adoption of Spotify inside these agents is growing. He said Spotify does not send listener data to partners; agents submit requests and Spotify's own systems decide what to play, drawing on years of listening history. The remarks come as agent access to third-party services faces friction. Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse from shopping on its platform, illustrating how major players may restrict outside agents over access, security, privacy or commercial control.
