Wall Street Futures Rise as Oil Retreats Ahead of Fed Rate Decision
U.S. stock futures climbed Tuesday as easing oil prices lifted risk appetite ahead of the Federal Reserve's rate decision and a busy week of corporate earnings. Dow E-minis rose 186 points, or 0.35%, S&P 500 E-minis gained 29 points, or 0.38%, and Nasdaq 100 E-minis added 155 points, or 0.53% at 08:21 a.m. ET. Brent crude slipped for a second straight session but remained near its highest level since late April. Coca-Cola edged up 0.1% premarket after raising its annual profit forecast, and PayPal gained 1.4% on a lifted adjusted profit outlook. Royal Caribbean rose 6% on a raised full-year forecast, while Whirlpool fell 5.9% after a third-quarter loss and revenue miss. Meta slipped 0.4% after expanding its largest-ever equity raise to $97.5 billion for AI expansion, with Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom contributing up to $5 billion. Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon report later this week.
