US equity funds draw $5.07 billion in second straight week of inflows as Treasury yields ease
US equity funds posted net inflows of $5.07 billion in the seven days to October 21, a second consecutive week of net purchases, as easing Treasury yields and a strong start to earnings season bolstered investor appetite, LSEG Lipper data showed. The weekly intake fell roughly 62% from $13.37 billion the prior week. The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield declined nearly 38 basis points from its early-October peak of 5.3645%, a 24-1/2-year high. About 24% of S&P 500 companies have reported, with roughly 82% beating analysts' average estimates. Large-cap funds attracted $8.63 billion and mid-cap funds $1.92 billion, while small-cap funds lost $4.24 billion. Sectoral funds drew $1.8 billion, led by $1.18 billion into metals and mining. US bond funds recorded $969 million in outflows, ending a 26-week streak, while money market funds took in $14.82 billion.
