Stellantis Italy Output to Rebound in 2026 After Two-Year Decline, Union Says

Stellantis is expected to produce around 450,000 vehicles in Italy in 2026, up from roughly 380,000 last year, reversing a two-year decline, the FIM Cisl union said on October 6, 2026. The automaker assembled 340,745 vehicles in the first nine months of 2026, up 28% year-over-year, driven by new models including the Jeep Compass SUV, the hybrid Fiat 500, and the Fiat Panda, the union said in its quarterly report. Output of the hybrid Fiat 500 is now projected at about 60,000 units this year, well below Stellantis' initial target of 100,000. The union attributed the shortfall to repeated production stoppages caused by engine-component shortages and weaker-than-expected demand. Stellantis was not immediately available for comment.
