Teck Resources Limited (TECK, TECK-A.TO, TECK-B.TO) said strike action by United Steelworkers Local 7619 has commenced at its Highland Valley Copper operations in British Columbia, with the mine continuing at reduced capacity. The company did not estimate the potential production impact, saying it depends on the duration of the labor action. Teck said it has implemented contingency measures to maintain safe operations and environmental management during the strike. Highland Valley Copper is one of Canada's largest copper mines. Teck said it remains committed to reaching a collective agreement that is fair and reasonable for employees while supporting the long-term viability of the operation.
