Teva, Sanofi Duvakitug Shows Sustained IBD Benefits at Week 44; SNY Up 4.11%
Teva Pharmaceutical (TEVA) and Sanofi (SNY) reported sustained long-term Phase 2b improvements for investigational duvakitug in ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease through Week 44 of the RELIEVE UCCD extension study. Sanofi shares rose 4.11% to $41.19; Teva fell 0.41% to $41.14. In UC, clinical remission reached 47% at the 450 mg dose and 58% at 900 mg, dosed subcutaneously every four weeks; clinical response was 82% and 87%, and endoscopic improvement 59% and 63%. In CD, endoscopic response was 41% and 55%, clinical response 81% and 87%, and clinical remission 81% and 84%. The study enrolled 130 induction responders (72 UC, 58 CD). Higher efficacy at 900 mg suggested a dose-response relationship. Biomarker analyses showed reduced inflammation markers, including Th17 and Th1 pathway and tissue remodeling markers in CD. Duvakitug was generally well tolerated with no new safety concerns. Phase 3 SUNSCAPE-1/2 (UC) and STARSCAPE-1/2 (CD) trials are underway, alongside a Phase 2 hidradenitis suppurativa study.
