Target Corp. (TGT) said Wednesday it will offer more than 8,000 new holiday gift items—over half exclusive to the retailer—and roll out AI-powered shopping tools, as the company positions itself for the holiday season. Most new items are priced at $20 or less, including thousands at $5 and under. The company's "Ask Target" AI shopping assistant, in beta on Target.com and the Target app, will help customers find gift ideas and shop for products. Target will also launch a digital holiday kids catalog and additional AI features. The retailer will offer a new Deal of the Day from November 1 through December 24, with early Black Friday promotions set for November 5 through November 7. The assortment spans apparel, toys, beauty, home decor and food. In pre-market trading on the NYSE, Target shares were down 0.19 percent at $153.75, after closing Tuesday's session 0.46 percent higher.
