Tesla (TSLA) reports third-quarter results on Wednesday, with investors focused less on the headline numbers than on Robotaxi expansion and capital expenditures, MarketWatch reported. Revenue is expected at about $28 billion, roughly flat year over year, with EV sales contributing around $19 billion, above Wall Street estimates, per FactSet. EPS is forecast at $0.45 versus $0.50 a year earlier, and EBITDA at $3.7 billion, down 10%. Tesla has registered nearly 350 Cybercabs with Texas vehicle authorities, with 187 operating in Austin — about half its local fleet — according to RobotaxiTracker. The company offers limited driverless ride-hailing in six U.S. cities using Model Y vehicles and has permits for Las Vegas deployment and Phoenix testing. Oppenheimer analyst Colin Rusch said the next test is whether Tesla can scale unsupervised service while maintaining performance. Capex is the key metric for some experts. Tesla plans more than $25 billion in infrastructure spending this year, its highest ever, and secured a $30 billion credit facility last month. CFO Vaibhav Taneja said capex will keep rising over the next two to three years.
