United Airlines Q3 Profit Rises to $1.03 Billion as Revenue Jumps 17.4%

United Airlines Holdings Inc. (UAL) reported third-quarter net income of $1.029 billion, or $3.14 per share, up from $949 million, or $2.90 per share, a year earlier, the carrier said. Excluding items, adjusted earnings totaled $833 million, or $2.54 per share. Revenue rose 17.4% to $17.875 billion from $15.225 billion. The airline said it expects fourth-quarter total operating revenue growth to accelerate versus the third quarter and set another record, with a year-over-year increase of more than 20%.
