Union Pacific (NYSE: UNP) said Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Hamann will retire in early 2027, with succession plans to be announced at a later date. Hamann, who joined the railroad in 1992, has served as CFO since January 2020 and is the first woman to hold the role. CEO Jim Vena credited Hamann with guiding the company's finances "through historic challenges" and called her "tough," noting she "never said yes unless she believed it was the right thing to do for Union Pacific." Hamann, who previously held leadership posts across finance, human resources, marketing and sales, investor relations and corporate audit, said she remains "an ardent supporter" of the railroad's pending merger. Union Pacific did not name a successor or provide a timeline beyond early 2027. Hamann is executive sponsor of the company's women's employee resource group and received a Woman MAKE Award from The Manufacturing Institute.
