Union Pacific Q3 Profit Rises to $2.08 Billion, Revenue Up 15.3%

Union Pacific Corp. (UNP) reported higher third-quarter earnings, with net income rising to $2.076 billion, or $3.49 per share, from $1.788 billion, or $3.01 per share, a year earlier. Excluding items, the railroad operator posted adjusted earnings of $2.098 billion, or $3.53 per share, for the period. Revenue grew 15.3% to $7.197 billion from $6.244 billion last year, according to the company's quarterly results.
