United Therapeutics Corp. (UTHR) said its board approved a new share repurchase program authorizing the company to buy back up to $2 billion of common stock through October 21, 2027, sending shares higher in pre-market trading. The biotech company said the authorization reflects confidence in its balance sheet and free cash generation. Repurchases may be executed through accelerated share repurchase programs, open-market purchases, privately negotiated transactions or other methods, at management's discretion and subject to market conditions. United Therapeutics said an accelerated share repurchase agreement initiated in September 2026 under a prior authorization is expected to conclude in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will not reduce the amount available under the new $2 billion program. UTHR closed Wednesday at $563.49, up 1.74%, and traded at $568.37 pre-market, up 0.87%. The stock has ranged between $409.07 and $609.35 over the past year.
