Walmart Bundles Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus for $120 a Year
Walmart (WMT) said Tuesday it now offers Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus together for $120 annually, nearly $100 less than subscribing to both separately. The retailer said most customers who already hold both memberships would be eligible for prorated refunds by switching to the new plan. The bundle includes free delivery from Walmart and Sam's Club above a set order size, a choice of the ad-supported tier of Peacock or Paramount+, fuel discounts and 2% back on certain Sam's Club purchases. Walmart said the changes should not affect its third-quarter or full-year forecasts. The move extends Walmart's push to emphasize value as consumers' budgets are pressured by stubborn inflation. The retailer cut prices on thousands of items over the summer. Walmart shares were little changed in recent trading, up about 6% for the year, with this month's rally into defensive stocks recovering losses from its August report.
