Weyerhaeuser Posts $61 Million Q3 Profit, Beats Analyst Estimates

Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY) reported third-quarter net income of $61 million, or 8 cents per share, surpassing the 5-cent average estimate from five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research. The Seattle-based timber and paper products company posted revenue of $1.86 billion, also beating the $1.83 billion forecast from four analysts. The results reflect better-than-expected performance for the quarter ended in September. Weyerhaeuser, one of the largest timberland owners in the U.S., did not disclose additional operational details in the earnings snapshot.
